TWIN FALLS, Idaho – Following a pair of clean sheet performances, CSI women's soccer goalkeeper Avery Charlesworth has been named the Scenic West Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for her efforts in two 1-0 victories over USU-Eastern and Salt Lake.
In her final two regular-season home games in the black and gold, Charlesworth stepped up against two of the best in the conference, as the Golden Eagles picked up two impactful wins over nationally ranked opponents over the weekend. In the two shutouts, Charlesworth made eight saves, including a five-save performance on Thursday that was one off her season high. Against USU-Eastern on Thursday, Charlesworth weathered the storm early in the second half, saving multiple shots on goal to keep the game tied, as ultimately the Golden Eagles were able to take advantage of a penalty kick later in the second half for the victory.
On the season, the Hooper, Utah, native has started 10 games for the Golden Eagles, making 31 total saves, and now has her goals-allowed average under one, as it currently sits at 0.91 following the strong weekend performance.
Charlesworth and the Golden Eagles will finish the regular season with four straight road games, beginning Thursday with a trip up north to take on North Idaho.
