TWIN FALLS, Idaho - CSI Women's Soccer sophomore goalkeeper Avery Charlesworth played a big part in helping the Golden Eagles clinch their first ever playoff berth this past week and has been named Scenic West Goalkeeper of the Week for her efforts in a pair of road victories.
With the Golden Eagles needing one win this past week to secure their spot in the conference tournament, Charlesworth turned in two of her best performances of the season, holding both Colorado Northwestern and 15th-ranked Snow College scoreless as the Golden Eagles picked up two big wins.
The Hooper, Utah, native made five saves in her three halves of game action this past week, tallying her fifth and sixth clean sheets of the season. On the year, Charlesworth now has 42 saves and a 0.81 goals-allowed-per-game average. Charlesworth and the Golden Eagles head into the postseason playing their best ball as of late, as they have only allowed two goals across six matches in the month of October.
The women's soccer club will kick off its quest for its first conference championship on Thursday, as it squares off with Snow College in the first round of the Scenic West Tournament at 8 a.m. in Salt Lake City.
