EPHRAIM, Utah – The CSI men's soccer team found itself in a win-and-in scenario Saturday afternoon when it took the field to battle Snow College, but the Golden Eagles' season came to an end at the hands of the Badgers in a 1-0 loss in Ephraim.
The Golden Eagles had a tough time getting any offense going in the first half, as they ended the first 45 minutes without recording a shot, but thanks to strong defense, the game remained scoreless. In the second half, the visiting eleven were able to create some opportunities as they finished with five shots but ultimately only had one shot on goal and were held off the scoreboard.
The Badgers were able to break through late in the match, scoring in the 80th minute for the lone score of the game. Juan Porto Pascual had the only shot on goal for the Golden Eagles, while sophomores Jakob Hollon and Wilf Douglas each registered a shot in the loss. Lasse Brier gave the Golden Eagles a chance thanks to his four saves but took the loss in goal.
The loss ends the Golden Eagles' season, as they finish the year in fifth place in the Scenic West Conference. They finished with an overall record of 6-5-2 in their third year of existence.
