Beginning at 9 p.m. Wednesday, City of Twin Falls crews will conduct alternating lane closures at the intersection of Blue Lakes Boulevard, Fillmore Street and Bridgeview Boulevard to install new protected-permissive signals and reposition existing signal heads.
The work will include new signal heads with arrow indicators to support protected-permissive turning from eastbound and westbound traffic traveling northbound or southbound. Protected-permissive signals display green arrows to indicate drivers can proceed on a protected turn. If a signal displays a yellow or flashing yellow arrow, vehicles must yield to oncoming vehicles.
Crews will also relocate existing signal heads to improve visibility and reduce potential driver confusion.
Motorists traveling in the area at night should expect intermittent lane closures and delays while crews complete the work. To prevent traffic issues during installation, the city anticipates completing work and reopening all lanes by 7 a.m.
The updated signal operations will help improve traffic flow and reduce congestion on Bridgeview Boulevard and Fillmore Street as additional businesses open in the Woodbury Corporation’s Canyon Park West shopping plaza. Drivers are asked to slow down, follow traffic-control devices and use caution around crews and equipment. Never use a cell phone while driving.
