1A District 4 meet

JEROME — The Valley boys and the Raft River girls ran away with the team titles in the 1A District 4 track and field championships.

Valley (177 points) finished well ahead of Murtaugh (115) and Raft River (70) on the boys side. The Raft River girls (148) topped Oakley (107.5) and Murtaugh (75.5).

Hansen’s Chase Ellison and Camas County’s Samantha McFadyen were named the boys and girls athletes of the meet, respectively.

Ellison won the 100-meter dash (11.59 seconds) and 200-meter dash (23.58), and he finished second in the 400 (53.32).

McFadyen won the 200 (27.67) and 400 (1:01.73), and she also came runner-up in the high jump (4 feet, 10 inches).

South Fremont 13, Filer 3 (5 innings)

POCATELLO — The Wildcats saw their season end in Friday’s 3A state play-in game.

Filer’s Kyle Sanford and Ryan Wilson each went 1-for-2, and A.J. Mayer was 1-for-3.

The Wildcats finished the season with a 15-13 record.
