TWIN FALLS — Drake Miller didn’t allow a hit in the Spartans’ Great Basin Conference win on Friday.

Miller allowed one walk and struck out five in his five innings pitched. He also went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base.

At the plate for Minico, McKay Chandler went 2-for-3 with two doubles, Nicky Caldera was 2-for-2 with a triple, Alan Ambriz was 2-for-3 with a double, Kobe Matsen was 2-for-3, Rylan Chandler was 2-for-4 and Carson Schow was 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a stolen base.

The Spartans (14-2, 7-0) and Riverhawks will wrap up the series with a doubleheader on Saturday in Rupert.

Twin Falls 13, Burley 0 (5 innings)

TWIN FALLS — The Bruins bashed the Bobcats for a Great Basin Conference win.

Connor Root was Twin Falls’ starting pitcher and lasted 4 2/3 innings. He allowed two hits, didn’t issue a walk and struck out five. He also went 2-for-2 with a triple and a double at the plate.

Twin Falls’ Parker Bingham went 1-for-1 with a double and a walk, Magnum Hofstetter and Cade Greenfield each went 2-for-3 and Anthony Scholes and Carson Walters each went 1-for-2 with a walk.

The Bruins (9-4, 4-1) will wrap up the conference series with a doubleheader at Burley on Saturday.

Wendell 6, West Jefferson 3 (6 innings); Wendell 15, Wells (Nev.) 8

GLENNS FERRY — The Trojans earned a pair of wins Friday at the Glenns Ferry Tournament.

Against West Jefferson, Tristan Wert went 3-for-4 with a double, Kyler Lukesh went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, Felipe Paniagua went 2-for-2 with a walk and Keevan Lindsay went 1-for-4 with a double.

Paniagua didn’t allow a hit in his four innings pitched. He was charged with two runs (one earned), walked five and struck out 10.

In game two, Paniagua went 1-for-3 with a triple and a walk, and Donald Bunn drew four walks.

Wendell (6-6) will play Nampa Christian on Saturday to wrap up tournament play.


Twin Falls 12, Burley 5

TWIN FALLS — The Bruins improved to 5-0 in the Great Basin Conference (11-3 overall) with Friday’s win.

Twin Falls scored four runs in the first inning and five in the second to take a 9-2 lead.

At the plate for the Bruins, Caroline Casdorph went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double, Lexi Rierson went 3-for-4 with a double two stolen bases, Kylie Baumert went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two steals, Brinley Iverson went 1-for-3 with a triple, Savannah Fitzgerald went 2-for-3 and Kenzie Connell went 2-for-4 with a steal.
