Head Coach: Buck Hendren, 2nd Year

2016 Record: No program

Playoffs: None

Richfield returns to the 1A-DII level after cancelling last year’s season because of a small turnout. Several players traveled north to play for Camas County, including three players who return for this season.

The Tigers’ turnout is similar to last season, but head coach Buck Hendren said the players’ level of commitment is elevated, which led to the decision to field a team this year.

“We have a few more guys this year, but dedication level is different. That’s why we decided to go forward with what we have,” said Hendren.

Senior Justin Wood will lead the way on both sides of the ball for the Tigers. Wood was one of seven players who suited up for Camas County last season. Another of those players, sophomore Austin Hukill, is expected to shoulder a heavy load as one of the better athletes in Richfield.

“We want to be a disciplined, ball control team,” Hendren said. “We won’t score as much as other teams in our conference, like Dietrich, Carey and Lighthouse. To be competitive with those teams, we have to be disciplined and slow them down with our defense.”
