About Idaho Department of Environmental Quality
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is a state agency whose mission is to protect human health and the quality of Idaho's air, land, and water. This includes ground water, which provides drinking water to over 95% of Idaho's population!
Twin Falls County is a nitrate priority area, which means that more than 25% of wells sampled have a nitrate concentration greater than 5 milligrams per liter (mg/L). The federal drinking water standard is 10 mg/L. Please go to our website for more information.
