OAKLEY – Pioneer Days is being celebrated this week in Oakley.
Moto Rodeo takes place Wednesday at 6 p.m. Gymkhana starts at 6 p.m. on July 19. The rodeo is July 20-21 at 7:30 p.m. with a fireworks show planned after the end of Saturday’s rodeo. A dance with the Saddle Strings Band is scheduled after Friday’s rodeo at Oakley City Park.
A 3-on-3 basketball tournament is July 20-21, along with a 4-on-4 co-ed grass volleyball tourney on July 20.
Other Saturday events include the early morning Goose Creek Run Off with 10K, 5K and kids race events (visit www.goosecreekrunoff.com for more information). A chuckwagon breakfast will take place Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Parade starts at 11 a.m., entertainment in the park from 12:30 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. The Oakley Stake Beef Barbecue will take place at the city park from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the Oakley Valley Arts Council presents “Annie” at 2 p.m. The Oakley swimming pool and museum will also be open.
