I am writing this letter in support of Ronnie L. Geer as Gooding County Coroner. I have known Ronnie for several years now, and I’ve watched him serve this community in multiple capacities.
He has served as the school resource officer in Hagerman, Gooding and Wendell. During that time I’ve seen him play Santa Claus as well as Elvis for school programs, volunteer to cook for school BBQ’s and spend hours upon hours after school at sporting events. The kids love him, and his kindness and compassion resonate strongly among students and staff.
I lost my husband Larry in June of 2016. Ronnie was the coroner on call that day who responded to my residence. He showed a genuine compassion for me and my family, as he took extra time to answer questions that are very hard to ask during a time of death. He was very patient with me, and waited for family members to arrive before taking Larry from us. His kindness, his compassion, and his patience made the most difficult day of my life as bearable as it could be.
Ronnie has the training, the experience and the compassion that it takes to hold this important position. He has been serving as chief deputy coroner for seven years now, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving for this position.
