Don and Beverly Williams celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary November 16, 2016.
Don Williams, having served four and a half years in the US Air Force, met Beverly Johnston at a dance in Shoshone and literally swept her off her feet. After a four month courtship he surprised her by putting a ring on her finger and told her if she did not have a great time she could give it back at the end of the date. The ring has remained on her finger for 60 years. On a very cold snowy November day they were happily married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. The next 7 years they lived in Shoshone, Dietrich, Bellevue, Carey and Hailey where Don served as principal and teacher in the public school system and completed his Masters of Education degree at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. In 1964 they moved to Twin Falls where for 33 years they worked for Jostens and Autrey Brothers. In a true partnership they created a loving family and successful business. They enjoyed working and traveling together, and meeting all of the wonderful people they encountered along the way, many of whom have remained close throughout their lives.
In 1998-99 they lived in Xi’an, China where they taught English and American literature at the Xi’an Foreign Language University. Don also taught English to 1st graders at a neighboring elementary school and donated his salary to the school to buy books and supplies for the 1st graders.
One of their greatest pleasures was their cabin in Featherville, Idaho. They built their mountain home in 1978 and felt it was their healing place. For almost 40 years they enjoyed exploring and sharing the mountains with their family and friends. Don wrote about their heavenly place in 1990:
Oh, let this be my heaven
I ask for no greater joy,
Than to forever live in this valley
which I first visited as a boy.
Many years have passed since then
and many places of this world I did roam
But no other place on the face of the earth
would I wish for my heavenly home.
Hence, oh Lord, let this be my heaven
where with Beverly I would forever remain,
But if another heaven is prepared for us
grant we may return to this valley again.
They are actively involved in church and the community. They have held several leadership positions in their church and were involved in community service, such as Meals on Wheels, and served as President of the Buhl West End Senior Center receiving recognition for their work from the President of the United States.

Lester invited Valoy and her girlfriends to go with him to a Grange Hall Dance in Hagerman Valley. Lester had been drafted into the Army for the Korean War, so they only dated a short time before he left for basic training. After basic training, he was sent to Germany for two years. They corresponded through letters during his time in Germany. Lester returned home in the spring of 1955 and the couple was married in Gooding, Idaho about six months later.
In the early years of their marriage they lived in Pocatello, Idaho and Provo, Utah. Valoy was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1958, while Lester was attending Brigham Young University in Provo, he was baptized into the LDS church. They moved north to Redding, California in 1966 and lived there for 33 years. Lester taught math at Enterprise High School and Valoy worked for a time as a music aide at a local elementary school. Their youngest child was born while they live in Redding. It was also during their years in Redding that Lester served as a Bishop in their LDS ward.
In 1994, Lester retired from teaching. The couple moved back to Gooding, Idaho in 1999, where their life together had begun. They served a year-long mission for the LDS church at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City in 2000. They loved their mission and made many wonderful friends during this time. The Olsens 50th Anniversary
October 2nd, 2015
Twin Falls, Idaho
Catrina and James Kim invite you to join us in celebratory wishes for our parents’ Golden Anniversary. They’re too humble to accept a party, so we encourage phone calls, emails, and even texts!
On a sunny day in 1965, after completing service in the United States Air Force, Gary Olsen (Jerome) proposed to Judy (Buhl) on bended knee in Wendell, Idaho. (more like, “Let’s do this!!”) They gathered their parents in sunny Elko, Nevada to wed on October 2nd. Over the years, Gary’s talents in mechanical engineering earned many friendships from businesses such as Nordling Auto Parts, Roy Raymond Ford, NAPA Auto Parts and Reeder Flying Service. Judy made people smile not only with her sparkling personality, but with her skills in assisting Doctors George, Lyman, Savage and Newton in Twin Falls. God blessed their love story with three children, eight grandchildren, one great grandson, and numerous treasured friends. Gary still rides his dual sport motorcycle, and Judy's sewing expertise includes amazing beaded quilts for family, friends and underprivileged in the community. Anniversary: The Babcocks
The Great American Love Story continues! Fifty years ago, James Roy Babcock married Janet Louise Dixon after they met in Jackson, Wyoming, where they were both lodge employees. In the mid-1970’s, after obtaining educational and professional experience and three small sons in Salt Lake City and San Francisco, they took up residence in Jerome, Idaho, first on Davis Street, then later in a home they had built on East Avenue C. Jim worked as a physician at St. Benedict’s Hospital in Jerome for thirty years, and later, at Magic Valley Regional Hospital in Twin Falls. He served as the Jerome County Coroner, as bishop of the Jerome First Ward (LDS), and as President of the Jerome, Idaho, Stake (LDS), as well as putting in stints as scout master and tee-ball coach. Janet retired early from her teaching career to raise their five children: Michael, Matthew, Joseph, Anna Katherine, and Steven. She was also active in many civic, social, and ecclesiastical positions, supporting the public library, advocating adult literacy, and receiving honors from the Idaho Historical Society for her “Barn Again” project. As a couple, they served three missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in New Zealand, Chicago, and Salt Lake City. Send them your warm wishes!

"One by one each year flew by,
Since you both said “I do”
60 years of memories,
Shared by the two of you.
From big events and holidays
To simple daily pleasures,
Some tearful times along life’s way,
Some joys that can’t be measured
One by one each year now gone,
But still they’re yours forever
Each and every memory,
Of sixty years together!"
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! We love you!

Anniversary: The Easterdays
Lenard and Lorene Easterday passed a huge landmark in their lives together this year. They will both turn 92 this year and on March 14th were married 72 years. They still live at their home that they moved here to in December 1948.
After being married in 1943 in Eustis, Nebraska, Dad was called to serve in the Army (1945-46). He had his training at Fort Seal, Oklahoma and was shipped to Berlin, Germany in the 79th Artillery Division. In December 1948 with 3 small boys, LaRay, Ronnie and Eldon, Dad and Mom moved to Buhl, Idaho bringing with them Dad’s brother, Donald and Mom’s twin sister Irene, whom were married as well and this began Dad and Mom’s life long journey of farming and dairying. Irene passed away Christmas of 1951 leaving Mom without her twin sister. Dad and Mom added to their family Alvin in 1955 and (Dad says “finally low and behold”) two girls, 1959 Christine and 1961 Mary Lynn. Dad and Mom raised their family in a one bedroom home until remodeling took place late 1961.
The life lessons that all of us kids learned have been invaluable through our adult lives and in passing them onto our children. Dad says Mom always took care of all the kids all these years now it is his turn to take care of Mom and he does with a very kind loving heart.
All of us kids just want to take this time to say “THANK YOU DAD AND MOM” for the good life that you gave us. You taught us the faith that we have in God our Lord and Savior, taught us the best work ethics there is to give and taught us to love and respect all. With all our heartfelt love to both of you, HAPPY 72ND ANNIVERSARY!!
