TWIN FALLS • Sheriff’s deputies and search and rescue volunteers located a hunter and his companion reported missing in western Twin Falls County.

The hunters, Leonard Unzicker, 77, of Buhl, and a 16-year-old boy, were found in a brown 2014 Chevy Silverado pickup truck, which was “very stuck” near the Owyhee County line, said Lori Stewart, Twin Falls Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

The two were in good condition and “happy to be found,” Stewart said. They were flown out of the area in a helicopter.

The man and teen went coyote hunting in the Coonskin Butte area and were last seen by other hunters about 2 p.m. Sunday.

The Owyhee County Sheriff’s Office sent someone to look for the hunters Sunday night, and eight people from the Twin Falls Sheriff’s Office searched Monday, Stewart said.

The hunters did not have overnight gear, she said. They also had only a small amount of water.
