TWIN FALLS - Vernon C. Rehn, “Sonny,” age 67 of Twin Falls, Idaho suddenly passed away out fishing doing what he loved in Riggins, Idaho on Tuesday, October 25, 2016.

Vern was born on May 14, 1949 in Rupert, Idaho, the son of Bernice and Vernon “Fuzz” Rehn. Vern grew up in Burley, Idaho and farmed on their family wheat farm at Raft River, Idaho. He married his childhood sweetheart, Kay Krieger, on June 20, 1969. Kay and Vern settled in Twin Falls, Idaho where Vern would go to work at 7up Bottling Company. He joined the National Guard in 1970 and then went to work for Norco Welding for 38 years where he retired in February 2015.

Vern was an avid outdoorsman. He loved snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and four-wheeling. He also had a love for cars. If he wasn't doing one of these things, he would be out in his yard or in his shop tinkering; he could fix anything. Kay and Vern loved to take their motorhome and travel. He also loved having his kids and grandchildren around him. He always wanted to teach them to fish, snowmobile, or do anything outdoors. Vern loved Sunday night dinners with his family. He treasured his kids and grandchildren and took pride in all of their accomplishments. You would see him at the baseball, football, and soccer games, dance recitals, motorcycling, horse-back competitions and school functions.

Vern was honorary life-time member of the Magic Valley Snowmobile Club and served as President for many years. He was also an avid bass fisherman and a member of the Magic Valley Bass Master. He won Angler of the Year several years and would have been accepting it again this year.

Vern is survived by his wife Kay of 47 years and three children – Eric Carl (Monique), Kraig Vernon (Ashley), and Krista Kay (Steve) Vining. He has 8 grandchildren – Dylon, MaKayla, Eian, Erika, Sophia and Emersyn Rehn in addition to Marlin (Allison) Antrim and Morgan Walker. He is also survived by his brother – Steven (Liz) of Boise and Roxanne Marshall (Bob) of Middleton, Idaho in addition to many Krieger brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bernice and Fuzz Rehn.

The celebration of life will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 29 at the Twin Falls Methodist Church, 360 Shoshone Street, Twin Falls, Idaho. A viewing will take place from 6 to 8 pm Friday, October 28 at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave E, Twin Falls. Condolences may be left at
