Mary Frances Grabert, 95, passed away of natural causes on February 8, 2018 at Desert Rose Retirement Estates in Twin Falls. Born Mary Frances Hayes in Filer, Idaho, on June 17, 1922, she was the second of three children of the late Fay Fern (Hayes) Jensen. Her mother, a single mom school teacher in Twin Falls area, raised the children on a farm in Filer. Mary graduated Filer High School in 1940 and worked during WWII as a clerk typist. She married her second husband, Carl L. Grabert, a local farmer and worker at Challenger Dairy. She sold insurance and was an avid championship bowler and member of Twin Falls United Methodist Church. Mary loved family and travel. She was especially close to her younger brother, heroic WWII Army Air Force pilot, 1st Lt. Frank “Bud” Hayes, lost in action in 1945, as well as her older sister Nedra Greene.
Mary is survived by children, Megan Feller (Kent, WA), Carla Faye Grabert-Lowenstein (Henry) (Conway, SC), grandchildren Michael Feller (Danice) (Burien, WA) and Wynter Fyre Woodbury (Seattle, WA), 3 great-grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her husband Carl L. Grabert; sister Nedra Hayes Greene; and brother 1st Lt. Frank “Bud” Hayes.
Memorial Services will be at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Avenue East in Twin Falls on Monday, February 12 at 10:00 am.
