LaVerne Faye Eacker, 98, of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away May 10, 2018 with her family by her side.
She was born January 21, 1920 in American Falls, Idaho to Peter P. Goertzen and Helen Coleman Goertzen. She was the first of six children. The family later moved to Twin Falls, Idaho where she attended school. LaVerne married Arnold J. Eacker on November 22, 1936. They made their home in Twin Falls where they raised their four boys.
LaVerne was a LPN and worked at Magic Valley Memorial Hospital for 32 years. She made porcelain dolls and many other ceramics. She knitted, crocheted, sewed and did all kinds of hand crafts. Her collections were numerous, especially her frog collection that the family always added to.
She is survived by her four sons: Jack A. Eacker (Gloria) of Kimberly; Arthur L. Eacker (Janice) of Nampa; Paul D. Eacker (Shirley) of Kimberly and Steven D. Eacker (Linda) of Buhl. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
LaVerne will be greatly missed by family, friends, neighbors and all who called her “Grandma”.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold; two sisters; three brothers and one granddaughter.
A celebration of LaVerne’s life will be held at a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Park. A viewing for family and friends will take place from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave. East, Twin Falls.
