Elaine Millard Tolman, a 90-year-old longtime resident of Burley, died Friday, May 11, 2018, at Autumn Haven Assisted Living in Rupert.
Elaine was born July 26, 1927, in Burley, Idaho, the only child of Amos William and Annie Laura Nelson Millard. She married Jack Waldo Tolman on March 12, 1947, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They moved to Burley in 1948 and lived for 61 years in the same house. They were the parents of seven children. Elaine was always active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions, including as a missionary with her husband to Oklahoma and in the Logan Utah Temple. She had a strong testimony and enjoyed visiting different temples. She loved her family and grandchildren more than anything.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Julie Stohel; and one granddaughter, Jacque Elaine Tolman.
She is survived by her children, Ronald (Jacque) Tolman of Boise, David (Lorinda) Tolman of Burley, Renae (Don) Halverson of Rupert, Sheryl Brown of Rupert, Mark (Debbie) Tolman of Caldwell, and Scott (Teri) Tolman of Boise; 30 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Rupert Stake Center, 324 E. 18th St., Rupert, with Bishop Boyd Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery in Oakley.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday, preceding the service at the church.
Her family appreciates Autumn Haven for the excellent care they have given to Elaine.
