Carolyn J. Stafford Davis, 82, of Boise, joined her Heavenly Father on November 2, 2017. She was born and raised in Marenisco, Michigan. After graduating with a teaching degree, she moved out west living in California before settling down in Glenns Ferry, Idaho, with her husband Cleo Stafford, to raise a family and live her dream of teaching.

Carolyn was a strong, determined woman who did not shy away from adversity. Stricken with polio as a child, she defied medical doctors by walking again. She never slowed down and devoted her life to helping others.

She married Cleo Stafford in 1962 and together they had three children. She was extremely proud of all her children and delighted in their achievements. She loved her children and her grandchildren. She loved her life’s work of teaching. She took an active role in her students’ education and delighted in watching them become adults. After teaching for more than 40 years, she continued to volunteer at Glenns Ferry Elementary School.

She married Dave Davis in 2006 and found happiness again. Their happiness and laughter were contagious to all who knew them.

Carolyn joins those that preceded her in death, including her parents, Ray and Mildred Brightsman, her sister, Dora Lee Brightsman, her brother Frank Brightsman; her husband Cleo Stafford, and her second husband Dave Davis. She is survived by her daughters Karol Stafford and Wendy Williams, her son Kevin Stafford, and her grandchildren Austin Lamberson, Alex Williams and Amaya Williams.

Services will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Glenns Ferry United Methodist Church with a viewing at 10 a.m., funeral service at 11 a.m., and burial will follow at Glenn Rest Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.
