BUHL — Gooding-based North Canyon Medical Center plans to open a Buhl clinic later this year.
The hospital announced Monday it recently acquired 17 acres of land near the intersection of near Clear Lakes Road and Burley Avenue.
“We are excited to bring a state-of-the-art medical clinic to Buhl,” North Canyon’s chief executive officer Tim Powers said in a statement. “Our goal in expanding our services into Buhl is to make certain this community has access to the best care close to home.”
In addition to offering medical appointments, the clinic will include lab and diagnostic imaging services. Visiting specialists in orthopedics and general surgery will also use the space.
This year, Buhl will also be home to an expanded St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center clinic, which will accommodate more patients and services. It’s slated to open in mid-to-late 2018.
The 5,700-square-foot clinic — which will cost $2.4 million — is under construction now on Burley Avenue. It will replace the existing family practice clinic on Broadway Avenue South.
Once the new clinic opens, it will include x-ray equipment, lab services and behavior health. The clinic will also add a second provider.
