TWIN FALLS — Do you have what it takes to be a supervisor or a coach? What about a window trimmer?

The Idaho Department of Labor posts a list each month for the top 50 in-demand occupations around the state. Those lists are numbered by vacancy rate — a calculation of how many jobs are available versus how many are employed in that occupation.

Here’s a look at what the top 10 jobs in demand were in December for south-central Idaho:

1. Speech-Language Pathologists — 76% vacancy rate

2. Coaches and Scouts — 20% vacancy rate

Total openings: 45

3. Surgical Technologists — 14% vacancy rate

4. First-Line Supervisors of Transportation and Material-Moving Machine and Vehicle Operators — 13% vacancy rate

The occupations with the most total openings in December were heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers (144), registered nurses (133), and first-line supervisors of retail sales workers (56).
