Flu vaccinations are still being administered in the Magic Valley. Scott Holliday, an emergency physician at St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center, strongly urges people to get vaccinated. 'It's not too late to get your flu shot now,' he says.

TWIN FALLS — In just three weeks, four south-central Idaho residents have died as a result of flu-related complications.

The number of influenza-related deaths in Idaho continues to grow. The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare — which tracks numbers and puts out a weekly report — classifies flu activity as “widespread.”

Here are the latest numbers, as of the week of Feb. 4:

9: Elderly residents who’ve died of flu-related complications in south-central Idaho

66: Number of deaths in Idaho 

  • 64: Over the age of 50
  • 2: 18-to-49-year-olds
  • 0: Children
