There was a problem reporting this.
The numbers are bogus because they aren’t testing everyone. My opinion is we have had it here for months. How many tests have actually been done? What are the ages tested? How can you report only one case in Twin with knowing the lack of testing? Pretty sure my wife and I already had it over a month ago. We had flu shots in October and the symptoms matched perfectly to the virus. We had been in Washington state 2 times in the ground zero community area. We self quarantined because that’s what we do with any flu. We still have a residual coughing.
Yes, this makes me wonder too. There have been a lot of people sick with flu like symptoms and have been told that this past flu shot didn’t cover all strains! Hmmm...perhaps Co-vid 19?
I agree, my wife and I have been sick of and on for weeks! Showing many signs if not all. Body aches, runny nose, fever off and on. There is no way that our numbers if everyone that has or had the signs were tested. I've been turned down because I dont meet the age requirements or underlying issues. I am 37 years old and my wife is 29. No matter your age or health you are still apt to getting the virus. They are showing now that even younger and good health people are getting and dying from this. And people with mild to no signs are still carrying it around and possibly spreading it. Very serious and nothing is being done. I'm very certain myself wife and some coworker's have encountered this. If you have any signs they should not turn you away.
The Idaho Statesman publish a really great article talking about the strain on resources and reagents to test for the virus, yet the media in the Magic Valley have neglected to keep the citizens informed on why there are so few people being tested, or how many people in Twin Falls and surrounding communities have already been tested and waiting on results. Every day there are more cases coming out of Blaine County. Hailey, Sun Valley, and Ketchum are all affluent communities. Do affluent citizens in Blaine County have a higher priority over rest of us in Southern Idaho because of their wealth? I suppose the SCPHD and St. Lukes think that by allocating most of their resources to Blaine County they can ignore the rest of Southern Idaho. I'm at a point where I am starting to wonder if St. Lukes, SCPHD, and local government officials view poorer communities as liabilities to be discarded and ignored. If people aren't being tested, then there is no real means to determine how badly this virus has spread, especially among the most vulnerable. St. Lukes has to make that money, and obviously poor and uninsured people don't pay the bills.
