January 22, 1937—November 26, 2019
Allen was born to M. C. and Belle Picklesimer in San Diego, CA on Jan. 22, 1937. He passed away Nov. 26, 2019 in Twin Falls, ID, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years and one day, Elaine, children John and Becky Picklesimer, Con and Julie Bleeker, Darrin and Jolene Whitaker and Jeff and Michelle Picklesimer all of Twin Falls, ID, and seven grandchildren: Andrew and Audrey DiPietro, Daryn and Julie Picklesimer, Seth and Sondra Collins, Rob and Melissa Lassiter, Blake and Angela Whitaker, Sam and Keni Petersen, and Justin Picklesimer. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren: Mayci, Molly, Jack, Grady, Mandie, Grant, Grace, Kai, Isabell and Jeremiah.
Allen was the son of a Naval officer which meant moving around the country while he was growing up. In 1948, his family settled in Imperial Beach, CA. It was there that his love for the outdoors, hunting and fishing became his favorite pastime. In 1953, at Mar Vista High School he met and fell in love with a cheerleader named Elaine Baber. They were married November 25, 1954. The next year they welcomed a son, John. Then came Julie, Jolene and Jeff.
In January of 1957, Allen’s brother invited him to a Pentecostal church in National City, CA. There he found what he had been looking for all of his life. He was baptized in Jesus’ name and received the gift of the Holy Ghost according to the biblical plan of salvation in Acts 2:38. Later that year, Elaine also gave her heart to God. They worked together in the ministry for 40 years. He became pastor of the United Pentecostal Church in Imperial Beach, CA in January 1966. He pastored there for 15 years.
His love for the outdoors brought him to Idaho in the late 1970’s. In January 1981, he accepted the pastorate of Bethel Temple Apostolic Church in Twin Falls, ID where he served as pastor for 25 years. He often said, “I wasn’t born in Idaho, but I got here as soon as I could”. He retired as pastor June 6, 2006, but remained active in the ministry until his death. His memory and legacy will remain in the hearts of the Bethel Temple Apostolic Church family and friends around the world.
He is greatly beloved by God and the angels and will always be remembered as “A Man of God”.
The viewing will be held Monday, Dec. 2, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. followed by the funeral on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. The viewing and the funeral will be held at Bethel Temple Apostolic Church, Twin Falls, ID. July 24, 1937—November 28, 2019
Luther was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on July 24, 1937, the first son to Luther Dull and Mary Ellen Sipe. Upon graduation from high school, Luther enlisted into the U.S. Air Force and served a 4-year enlistment at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Due to his innate understanding and experience with electronics, he was quickly promoted with the rank of Airman 2nd Class to instructor- teaching the officer pilots about the Air Force planes firing systems.
While in the Air Force, Luther met Phyllis Kay Miller on one of his visits home resulting in a loving, fifty-one year marriage. They married on April 12, 1959. Luther was honorably discharged from the Air Force in January 1960 and he and Kay returned to Pennsylvania. They had 3 children.
Luther devoted his working life to the commercial refrigeration industry. He started working in refrigeration with his Dad in Somerset, Pennsylvania, while in high school. He returned to run his Dad’s refrigeration business after the Air Force. In 1967, he had the opportunity to explore another area of refrigeration working on yachts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. However, the mountains of the west were calling and in July 1969, Luther moved his family to Boise, Idaho to start a branch for Scott’s Refrigeration. This led to the job he loved for the rest of his working career. He became a well-respected, national leader in the refrigeration industry- teaching classes, designing refrigeration/ electrical systems, publishing articles in national refrigeration publications and starting- up new systems in stores in almost every state in the US and in Guam.
Luther loved hunting and was an exceptional wood worker. There was almost nothing he could not make or fix. He truly loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a quiet, kind man with a good sense of humor and a strong Christian faith his entire life that enriched those around him.
Luther lost his beloved wife, Kay, in March of 2010.
While working on a church project at Our Savior Lutheran Church a few years later, he met Yvonne Carpenter. Their friendship grew and they were married in January 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne, sister Connie Ream, of West Virginia, brother Neil (Patti) Sipe of Brisbane, Australia, daughter Jennifer (Ron) Dalton of Cedar City, Utah, daughter Lori (Tim) Tomlinson and son Gary (Diana Hadley) Sipe both of Twin Falls, Idaho, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Sandra Jean (McDrummond) Soran was born on Oct. 26, 1952 in Twin Falls, Idaho, to William A. McDrummond and Alice McDrummond-Raidiger. She grew up in Kimberly, Idaho with her two sisters, Connie Dunlop and Sherry Amen, alongside several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family moved to Twin Falls when she was in 3rd grade, and remained in Twin for the rest of her life.
She married her high school sweetheart Timothy Soran in 1971, and they celebrated their wedding reception at Turf Club in Twin Falls. Soon after, Sandee and Tim started their family, and had two beautiful children, Tim Jr. and Alicia. Besides being a full-time mom, Sandee would soon join the family business, where she spent much of her time preparing elegant hors d’oeuvres with her closest friends. In her free time, one could find Sandee out in her yard and garden, planting flowers, pulling weeds, and feeding her squirrels. As her children grew older, Sandee and Tim began to travel. First, with intermittent trips to Mexico with Connie and Walt, ultimately, wintering there for the last 10 years.
Sadly, 10 years ago, Sandee was diagnosed with cancer, with an original prognosis of only 5 months to live. Thankfully, Sandee was able to receive her treatments at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, in which remission turned into a cure. In May of 2019, she was re-diagnosed with a different strain of cancer, from which she fought and ultimately lost her battle.
