TWIN FALLS — Less than a year after it opened, Chipotle Mexican Grill in Twin Falls is shutting down.Chipotle spokeswoman Quinn Kelsey confirmed the closure.
“We are going to be closing this restaurant but we are grateful to the people of Twin Falls for being our customers and we hope that they continue to visit our other locations,” she wrote in a Tuesday email to the Times-News. Kelsey said she doesn’t have an exact closure date yet.

Chipotle announced June 25 it plans to close 55 to 65 underperforming restaurants — half within the next month, according to Business Insider. The Twin Falls restaurant opened in August 2017 at 687 Blue Lakes Boulevard North. It employs about 35 people, a company spokeswoman said shortly after the restaurant opened.
Chipotle’s menu features burritos, tacos, burrito bowls and salads. The burrito chain started in Denver in 1993. There are now more than 2,300 Chipotle restaurants.
