TWIN FALLS — Acclaimed film and Oscar nominee for Best Documentary "I am not Your Negro" will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Twin Falls Center for the Arts' Sligar Auditorium, 195 River Vista Place, Twin Falls. It envisions the book James Baldwin never finished, which results in a radical up-to-the-minute examination of race in America — using Baldwin's original words spoken by Samuel L. Jackson, with archival material. Moderated discussion will follow the screening.
The film will be presented by Indie Lens Pop-up — a free nation-wide documentary film series that offers public education and civic engagement — featuring screenings of films from the PBS television series "Independent Lens." Sponsored by Independent Television Service, Idaho Humanities Council and Magic Valley Arts Council, the film series explores the human experience and timely subject matter.
A free slice of pizza for film viewers will be offered at 6 p.m.; each additional slice will cost $1.
