FAIRFIELD — Local rancher Bill Davis has been appointed to fill a vacancy on the Camas County Commission.
Barbara McMurdo Cutler resigned in August because she was moving into another district, creating the vacancy. Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter announced Davis’s appointment Friday.
Davis, a lifelong resident who had already been a commissioner for 12 years, was chosen from three candidates submitted to Otter by the Camas County Republican Central Committee. He will serve out the rest of Cutler’s term, which ends in January 2019.
