TWIN FALLS — A Goodwill thrift store will open in the former Hastings building this fall.
Easter Seals-Goodwill Northern Rocky Mountain announced it will open the store at 870 Blue Lakes Blvd. N. with about 12,000 square feet of retail space. The rest of the 20,000 square-foot building will be used for warehouse, existing workforce development programs and the online bidding service Shop Goodwill.
“We’re really excited about the opportunity to have a store there,” spokeswoman Chelle Fried said. “The store itself will actually be a job training site for people.”
The store will have 20 to 25 employees upon opening, she said.
There is no set date for when donations will be accepted. Donations are tax-deductible. Easter Seals Goodwill also plans to announce a grand opening event with giveaways.
Hastings closed in 2016 following a company bankruptcy, sale and liquidation. King’s Variety Stores had planned to open a new Twin Falls store in the building this spring, but later announced it would close all its stores.
