TWIN FALLS — A Twin Falls man was charged with multiple felonies after police said he crashed a car while driving drunk and was physically aggressive with first responders to the accident.

Ethan Russell Christensen, 32, was arraigned Monday on charges of aggravated driving under the influence, assault or battery upon certain personnel, and two counts of injury to a child transported in a motor vehicle while under the influence.

Police were called to a crash at the intersection of Grandview Drive North and Arrowwood Court in Twin Falls the night of May 10, according to an affidavit.

They arrived at the scene to find Ethan Christensen on the grass with three children, all of whom were injured, and a woman, Cori Christensen, walking away.

Ethan Christensen told officers that he was not driving the car, but wouldn’t say who was, police said. When an officer asked him whether he had been drinking, Ethan Christensen admitted that he had.

While talking with police, Ethan Christensen “began to get irritated” and started yelling that he wanted to go back in the ambulance with his daughter, according to the affidavit. Paramedics had asked him to wait outside the ambulance because he was getting “aggressive and irate,” police said.

Police said Ethan Christensen yelled at a paramedic and tried to push him out of the way to force himself into the ambulance.

When police handcuffed Ethan Christensen and tried to get him in the back seat of the police car, Christensen kicked a sergeant, according to the affidavit.

The woman at the scene of the accident, Cori Christensen, was arraigned last week on charges of battery against a health care worker, two counts of assault or battery upon certain personnel, and resisting or obstructing an officer.

Police said in a separate affidavit that Cori Christensen punched, bit, and spat on officers and an EMT when she saw them handcuffing Ethan Christensen.

One of the children was taken to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center after she sustained a serious head injury from the accident, according to an affidavit. The other two children were treated for minor injuries.

Cori Christensen’s brother told police that Ethan was driving the car with the three children in the backseat and Cori Christensen was walking on the sidewalk at the time of the accident.

Ethan Christensen was jailed on a $75,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 25.
