BLAINE COUNTY — One teenager was killed and another injured last Wednesday when their SUV went off U.S. Highway 26/93 and rolled over multiple times, according to a statement from the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver of the SUV, 17-year-old Roberto C. Gonzales-Reyes of Roberts, was thrown from the car and declared dead on the scene, police said. A passenger, Juan P. Garcia Flores — also 17 years old and from Roberts — was flown to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. He is in stable condition.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the teens appeared to be traveling south when their car went off the road. Speed may have been a factor in the crash, police said. They were reportedly not wearing seat belts.
