BURLEY — A man who police say entered a woman’s apartment while she was showering, put a glove on and threatened her with a knife waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Cassia County magistrate court on June 22.
Rogelio Gonzalez-Huerta, 23, of Nampa, is charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment and trespassing.
His case is set for arraignment July 10 in Cassia County district court.
Cassia County Sheriff detectives said in court documents that he is a business partner of a man who witnessed the April 28 murder of Rafael Gil Vargas in the city of Minidoka.
Court records say deputies were called to a woman’s apartment in May and found Gonzalez-Huerta inside.
Officers said the woman was panicked and pacing and said she was the sister of Gonzalez-Huerta’s ex-girlfriend.
When she arrived home he and other man were in the parking lot at her apartment complex and she told them to leave.
She said when she went inside and took a shower Gonzalez-Huerta entered her apartment, put on a black glove and grabbed a knife out of his pocket.
The woman said he would not let her leave the room and that he told her she didn’t know what her sister had gotten her into.
The woman ran from the apartment when an expected friend arrived at her home.
The woman said Gonzalez-Huerta followed her out of the apartment saying it had been a joke and he wasn’t going to hurt her.
