GOODING — Two Magic Valley residents suspected of stealing four guns from Simerly’s Department Store in Wendell have been arrested in Boise.
Cruz Rubalcava of Wendell and Zackery Tyler of Twin Falls were arrested Wednesday by Boise City Police. Details of the arrests have not been released.
Each have been charged in Ada County with new felony counts. Rubalcava has been charged with two counts of grand theft, misdemeanor obstruction, felony Possession and unlawful entry. Tyler has been charged burglary, grand theft and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
One of the guns stolen from Simerly’s has been recovered, and the search will continue for the other three, a statement from the Gooding County Prosecutor’s Office said.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is also investigating.
Gooding County has filed charges of burglary against the two and is investigating possible charges of grand theft.
Rubalcaba also faces possible charges in Jerome County on suspicion of felony eluding and possession of stolen property, the prosecutor’s office said.
“All agencies involved are still diligently investigating and gathering new evidence that will be carefully reviewed and analyzed,” the statement said. “The Gooding County Prosecutor’s Office will provide updates as we are able to do so.”
