TWIN FALLS • The county search and rescue crew assisted two men on a trail under the Perrine Bridge in the Snake River Canyon.

The men had been hiking in the canyon, and started up the trail that BASE jumpers use after they have completed jumps about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Lori Stewart, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

One man said he was too afraid of heights and too tired to continue up and requested assistance, Stewart said.

The Twin Falls County Search and Rescue rappelling team responded, but in the end, rescuers walked the men back down and took them by boat to Centennial Waterfront Park.
