Morgan J. Salisbury, a graduate of Twin Falls High School, recently received his doctorate in geology from the Geosciences Department at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore.
Salisbury defended his dissertation on June 3, the final step before earning his Ph.D. The title of the dissertation is "Convergent Margin Magmatism in the Central Andes and the Near Antipodes in Western Indonesia: Spatiotemporal and Geochemical Considerations." The first chapter was published in the June 2011 issue of the Geological Society of America Bulletin.

Salisbury did field work in Bolivia and is fluent in Spanish. He is currently teaching summer classes in the Geosciences Department at OSU.
