Unitarian Universalists wrap themselves in spiritual quilts

TWIN FALLS — Much like a beloved hand-made quilt, spiritual practices can summon comfort, beauty and love into our lives. We might wrap ourselves in prayer, meditation and mindfulness or be comforted with long walks as we contemplate the beauty of nature. We could keep journals of gratitude and reflection, set aside time for study and inspiration and create habits of kindness and compassion.

We may wish to embrace a Sabbath time of rest and renewal and attend gatherings such as church services where we may connect with others. We all have need of support in our lives, and choosing to cultivate practices of the spirit which resonate with our personal search for truth and meaning will bless our lives.

The public is welcome at the Magic Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Vendor Blender and Event Center, 588 Addison Ave. W. near the old hospital, Twin Falls.

Unitarian Universalism honors the differing paths individuals travel. Congregations are places where people celebrate, support and challenge one another as they continue on their spiritual journeys. Unitarian Universalists covenant to affirm and promote: the inherent worth and dignity of every person; justice, equality and compassion in human relations; and acceptance of one another.

Newcomers of all religious paths, or none at all, are always welcome. Child care is available. The center is handicapped-accessible. Parking is in the rear of the building.
