TWIN FALLS — This true life romantic comedy explores culture, identity and family.
“Meet the Patels” shows at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Sligar Auditorium at the Twin Falls Center for the Arts, 195 River Vista Place.
The documentary follows Ravi, a nearly 30-year-old actor who is unmarried, to the dismay of his traditional Hindu parents. “Meet the Patels” is filmed by Ravi’s sister, Geeta, in what started as a family vacation video.
A moderated discussion led by Matt Reynolds, College of Southern Idaho associate professor of sociology, will immediately follow the film. An East Indian meal will be served at 6 p.m. and costs $5 per person.
“Meet the Patels” won the Audience Award at the Los Angles Film Festival and Best Documentary and Founders Grand Prize at the Traverse City Film Festival.
