Busiest Border Crossings for Entering the U.S.

  • 0

Due to non-essential travel restrictions to combat COVID-19, border crossings into the U.S. at ports of entry decreased dramatically in 2020 to the lowest levels since the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics began tracking this data in 1996. Since then, however, travel restrictions have been lifted and border entries have begun to recover. In fact, the U.S. processed nearly 194 million people and over 100 million vehicles entering into the country in 2022. And with the expiration of Title 42, border crossings are expected to eventually increase even more. Researchers calculated the total passenger and pedestrian crossings into the U.S. from a bordering country through each port of entry last year, then ranked ports and states accordingly.
