NOTICE OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL BOND ELECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to an ordinance adopted on February 25, 2019,
amended and adopted on March 4, 2019, by the City Council of the City of Twin Falls, Twin Falls
County, Idaho (the “City”), there will be a special municipal bond election held between the hours of
8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on May 21, 2019, in the City.
Special Municipal Bond Election: The City has proposed to issue general obligation bonds
in an amount not to exceed $36,000,000 for the purpose of providing funds with which to construct
and equip three (3) new fire stations to reduce emergency response service gaps and to enhance
neighborhood safety, construct and equip a new firefighter training facility, and renovate existing fire
stations to accommodate additional public safety programming needs, as otherwise determined by
the City, and all other related costs, equipment, items and appurtenances necessary, useful and
convenient for the betterment of fire and other public safety facilities within the City, all collectively
constituting the “Project.”
The interest rate anticipated on the proposed bonds based on current market rates is
3.55% per annum. The total amount to be repaid over the life of the proposed bonds, principal
and interest, based on the anticipated interest rate, is estimated to be $51,161,450, consisting of
$36,000,000 in principal and $15,161,450 in interest. The estimated average annual cost of the
proposed bonds based on current market conditions is a tax of $74.36 per $100,000 of taxable
assessed value, per year. The proposed bonds will mature within twenty (20) years from the date of
each series bonds. The total existing general obligation bonded indebtedness of the City, including
interest accrued as of May 21, 2019, is $0.00. The total existing indebtedness of the City, including
interest accrued as of May 21, 2019, is $55,350,881.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that in accordance with the Help America Vote Act of
2002, each of the polling places includes parking spaces, path of travel, entrances, exits and voting
areas accessible to individuals with disabilities.
