The father of a ten year old died. How does a
ten year old cope with such a loss? He tries
to comfort his mother, but doesn’t know how.
He tries to cope at school but feels no one
understands. His mother finds support, but what
about her son? She is told about the program
now known as Because Kids Grieve. Here he is
not alone in facing loss, there are others he can
share with. His mother later writes,


An absolute wonderful
experience for myself
as the parent and my
10 year old son.”

She sums up what Because Kids Grieve is all
about—helping children age 6-16 deal with the
loss of a precious loved one.


ecause Kids Grieve, formally
known as Kids Count Too, has been
serving children and families across
Southern Idaho since 2001.The
recent name change reflects what
the focus is really all about.
Because Kids Grieve is led by volunteers working
with grieving kids. There is no cost to participating
Volunteers for Because Kids Grieve have a back
ground check and training to work with children.
