Winnett sentencing

Amie Franklin, right, embraces Hollie Marie Winnett after giving her victim impact speech during Winnett's sentencing hearing Friday, March 17, 2017, at the Twin Falls County Courthouse in Twin Falls Idaho. Winnett was sentenced to 90 days in jail and seven years probation for the hit-and-run crash that resulted in the death of Franklin's husband, Twin Falls firefighter Ryan Franklin. NOTE: I often talk about the difficulties of shooting in a courtroom. The angles are limited, the defendant is usually facing away from you, and you can't make too much noise. Then again, every so often you're presented with a moment that really impacts you. In this image, Franklin is forgiving the woman that killed her husband. It's a moment I've never seen before, and I'm so thankful I was able to be there and share this with the community.
