Samuel Paytosh, a senior at Jerome High School, has done an extraordinary job balancing rigorous courses with his extracurricular activities. He maintains a 4.0 GPA while taking the most challenging courses offered at JHS, including trigonometry, calculus, physics, chemistry, and dual enrollment English and government. He is a member of the pep, marching, jazz and symphonic bands, and was a percussionist in the Idaho All State Band this spring. Last year, he was the band field conductor for the JHS band. For his senior project, he created “The Frozen Medley,” which was performed by Magic Valley Symphony. He also plays the piano for the performing choir team. Sam was cast in five major roles in plays and musicals at JHS. He has taken the lead in both set design and the technical aspects in many productions in the drama department. He placed multiple times in district drama and recently took third in the state for set design. Sam is currently the editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, “The Roaring Times,” and a member of the National Honor Society.
