Sierra Avila, a senior at Jerome High School, is on track to graduate a year early and maintains a 4.0 grade point average. She balances rigorous coursework while being involved in many extracurricular activities. These courses include algebra 3, trigonometry, chemistry, dual credit English 11 and 12, and dual credit U.S. government. She is a member of the advanced speech team, which took first place in the state competition last year. She also completes many of the layouts for the high school annual, Roaring Times newspaper and Northside Journal. Jerome High School’s annual teacher David Quinley says, “Sierra is a real powerhouse. I’m certain she will make a positive contribution to the world.” After high school, Sierra plans to attend the University of Washington or Washington State University to obtain a degree in communications.
