The Gooding boys soccer team defeated Teton 1-0 at Vallivue High School in Caldwell on Saturday afternoon to win the Class 3A state championship.

Danny Lopez scored the only goal of the match in the 45th-minute, latching on to a long pass from Andres Valdez and rifling a rising shot past Teton keeper Dany Bocardo.

The Senators (15-2-1) are District IV's first soccer champion since the Wood River boys soccer team beat the Community School to win the Class 3A title in 2003.
