Boys basketball

Declo 43, Valley 39

DECLO — Hayden Hanson and Kai Garner each scored 11 points as Declo knocked Valley from the ranks of the unbeaten, also taking the Canyon Conference lead.

Hanson also pulled down 10 rebounds and Zac Mangum dished out four assists for Declo (11-5, 5-0 Canyon). The Vikings (13-1, 3-1) were led by Cole Lickley with 11 points and Justin Johnson with 10.

With the Vikings’ loss, only 5A Borah, 3A Sugar-Salem and 1A-II Dietrich and Salmon River have yet to lose this season.

Valley hosts Glenns Ferry Friday. Declo is at Valley on Tuesday.
