M-C all-star tryouts set
RUPERT — Mini-Cassia Youth Boys All-star tryouts will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday and 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 16, at Big Valley Park. Tryouts are for ages 8-12.
TFHS holds cheerleader tryouts

Bruinettes hold dance show
The Twin Falls High School Bruinette End of Year Show will be held at 7 p.m., Friday at Baun Gymnasium. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students or $20 for a family pass. The Class 4A Novelty champs will present all of their dance routines for the 2009-10 season.
CSI North Side holds golf clinic
GOODING — The College of Southern Idaho North Side Center will hold a Full Golf Swing Clinic from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 6, at Gooding Golf Course. Hershey’s track meet nears

Rupert CC holds scramble
RUPERT — Rupert Country Club will host its annual four-person modified scramble Saturday, April 17. Teams will be flighted by total team handicap using half of each players handicap as of April 15.. Relay for Life golf scramble set
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life Golf Scramble will be held Saturday, May 1, at Canyon Springs Golf Course. The entry fee is $100 per two-person team and includes golf, cart and lunch. Play begins with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

New Legion baseball team hosts fundraiser
The new Twin Falls Hawks American Legion Baseball team is hosting a silent auction fundraiser Saturday, April 17, at the Turf Club in Twin Falls.
The event starts at 6 p.m. with a social hour and silent bidding, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Depot Grill will provide a dinner buffet, and the cost is $10 per person or $30 per family. All major credit cards will be accepted.

T.F. holds MLB contest
Twin Falls Parks and Recreation will host the Aquafina/Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run competition at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at the Oregon Trail Youth Complex on Park Avenue. The free competition is for boys and girls ages 7-14. Participants have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including local, sectional, team and national. Participants must preregister at the Twin Falls Park and Recreation office or at the field by 9:45 a.m., April 24.

CSI holds hoops camp to benefit Diouf family
The College of Southern Idaho Student Senate and the CSI athletic department are sponsoring Hoops 4 Help, a basketball camp for boys and girls of all ages from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 1, in the CSI Gymnasium. Funds raised from the camp will go to the family of CSI men’s basketball sophomore Byago Diouf, whose father died of cancer last December. The family has struggled with medical bills and overall living expenses following his death.
The camp will be conducted by the CSI men’s basketball coaching staff. The cost is $30 per participant and may be paid in advance or at the door the morning of the camp. Applications are available at the Boys and Girls Club, the CSI Student Recreation Center or at the CSI Student Activities Office on the second floor of the CSI Student Union Building.

Intermountain M.A. holds tourney
Intermountain Martial Arts will host the 10th annual Northwest Spring Taekwondo championships Saturday, April 17, at Immanuel Lutheran School gymnasium (2055 Filer Avenue East). Martial artists from Twin Falls, Filer and Kimberly will compete against participants from Idaho, Nevada and Washington. The Twin Falls Taekwondo Demonstration Team will begin a demonstration at 10 a.m. and the tournament will begin immediately following.

Canyon Springs, Rupert CC hold junior golf program
Canyon Springs Golf Course and Rupert Country Club will host three- and five-hole noncompetitive golf programs for junior players ages 5-11. The programs are designed as an introduction to golf at a reasonable cost for juniors who are not ready to participate in a junior competitive program. The programs will run for seven weeks. Events at Canyon Springs will be held on Thursday mornings, beginning June 10, while events at Rupert Country Club will be held on Wednesday mornings, beginning June 9.

Youth Baseball/Softball Registration
Twin Falls Parks and Recreation is accepting registration for the 2010 summer youth baseball and softball leagues from April 5-23. The cost is $15 in city limits and $25 out of city limits, with an additional $10 late fee charged after April 23. Summer baseball and softball is for boys and girls in grades K-6. Teams typically play twice a week for six weeks, beginning June 7. Volunteer coaches are needed. JRD holds Fat Blasting Boot Camp
JEROME — Jerome Recreation District will hold a Fat Blasting Boot Camp May 3-28. The cost is $60 and includes classes five days a week, a T-shirt and pre- and post-camp body fat measurements. Classes include circuit training, cardio, jump rope, obstacle courses, core conditioning, hikes, strength training and fitness challenges.

MVTA holds doubles tourney
The Magic Valley Tennis Association 2010 Indoor Doubles Tournament will be held April 19-24 at the YMCA tennis courts. The tournament is open to all players and participants do not need to be YMCA members. The entry fee is $20 per person per level for MVTA members and $30 per person per level for those not members of MVTA. TFGC hosts BILLS Place benefit
The Twin Falls Golf Course is hosting the seventh annual BILLS Place Benefit Golf Tournament on April 17.
The format is a scramble with a 2 p.m. shotgun start. The cost is $45 per person or $180 for a four-person team. The sponsor fee is $100, and the fee for a sponsor plus a four-person team is $270. Cart fees are not included. Fees are due by April 12, and the tournament is limited to the first 120 paid entries.

T.F. offers skateboard clinic
Twin Falls Parks and Recreation will offer a skateboarding clinic conducted by professional Shawn Black. The clinic is open to ages 6 and older and will be offered from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on April 17, April 24, May 1 and May 8 at the Twin Falls Skate Park. The clinic is ideal for beginning and intermediate skaters and participants will receive a helmet and pad set from the Magic Valley Safe Kids Coalition. The cost is $40.

Blue Cruise of Idaho cycling ride planned in Twin Falls
The Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health will hold the 2010 Blue Cruise of Idaho May 22 in Twin Falls. Olympic gold medalist Kristin Armstrong will join the riders. Participants may choose a distance of 15, 30 or 50 miles. Proceeds benefit the Canyon Rim trail system. A barbecue lunch will be provided after the ride at O’Leary Jr. High School.

JEROME — Jerome Recreation District Adult Softball registration is open through April 23, at which time a completed roster must be turned in along with team and player fees. The team fee is $225, along with a $50 substitution fee and forfeiture fee. Player fees are $25 for those in the district and $30 outside the district. The 12-week season will be played on Thursdays, beginning May 13. Upper and lower divisions will be offered. A captain’s preseason meeting will be held at 6:15 p.m., April 1 in the JRD conference room.

Preschool soccer upcoming
The Twin Falls Parks and Recreation department will hold preschool spring soccer on Saturdays from May 1 to 22 at the Oregon Trail Youth Complex. The program is for 4- and 5-year-old boys and girls to learn the fundamentals of soccer in a non-competitive environment. Parents are required to participate and assist with their child. T.F. Rapids seek players
The Twin Falls Rapids Soccer Club has openings for boys ages 9 or younger who won’t turn 10 until after Aug. 1, 2010. A few other age groups also have openings. The club offers year-round training for boys and girls ages 8-18 from nationally licensed coaches. Players get to play in four regional tournaments and receive practice shirts and a Rapids soccer ball. The Twin Falls Rapids are a licensed and insured non-profit organization.
