BOISE - Boise State announced Tuesday the addition of seven players to the spring football roster.
They include Butte (Calif.) JC quarterback Thomas Stuart and a heralded four-star prep recruit, safety Dylan Sumner-Gardner. Two transfers, a grayshirt, a non-playing Boise State student and another early prep enrollee are the others.
Stuart led Butte to the California junior college championship, throwing 29 touchdowns and three interceptions. With two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster - Grant Hedrick and Ryan Finley - following the graduation of Joe Southwick and the impending transfer of Nick Patti, it was an immediate need and the Broncos got one of the top junior college QBs in the West. He will have three years of playing eligibility with Boise State.
Sumner-Gardner was a top-10 national safety recruit and top-100 overall recruit, according to every major recruiting database. His four-star status is believed to make him the highest-rated recruit to ever come to Boise State directly from high school.
The seven new athletes are:

Dusty Fisher RS-FR WR 6-2 179 Douglas, Nev. (Douglas HS)
