The week six girls basketball media poll was released on Wednesday, and it featured slight changes in rankings for Magic Valley teams.

No. 2 Minico (10-5) held its position in the 4A poll despite going 2-3 since the last media poll was released on Dec. 20. All three were losses to 5A teams (Rocky Mountain, Centennial and Highland), and two were by a single-digit margin.

Burley (10-5) was one point shy of earning the No. 5 spot in 4A, edged out by Century.

Buhl (10-4) dropped out of the rankings in the 3A poll after being ranked No. 4 in week five. The Indians fell at home against Filer on Tuesday.

Gooding (11-2) replaced Buhl in the 3A poll, taking the No. 5 slot. Buhl beat Gooding at home in November, but the Senators have gone on a nine-game win streak since then.

The undefeated Oakley Hornets (13-0) stayed put at No. 2 in the 1A Division I poll, but earned a first-place vote for the first time this season.

Shoshone (13-1) remained at No. 4, and will host Oakley on Thursday. The Indians' lone loss came to the Hornets in December, falling 34-17 on the road.

A couple of local teams jumped in the 1A Division II poll, led by Dietrich (8-3), which jumped from No. 5 to No. 4. The Blue Devils suffered a 73-37 loss at Gooding on Dec. 19, but have stayed undefeated in conference.

Lighthouse Christian (11-3) is back in the 1A-DII rankings, tied for No. 5 with Genesis Prep. The Lions lost to Dietrich 47-29 in December.
