Boys athlete of the week: Keegan Duncan, Declo
In a 54-27 win over Teton (a 3A team), Duncan ran for 405 yards and five touchdowns on 14 carries, according to Declo head football coach Kelly Kidd. The junior also returned a punt about 70 yards for a touchdown and a kickoff for an 80-yard score. Kidd said Duncan had a 73-yard touchdown run and two special teams TDs called back. To top off the performance, Duncan nabbed an interception.
Girls athlete of the week: Mattalyn Geddes, Twin Falls
Geddes crushed her personal record and set a school record with a time of 18:00.54 at Saturday’s Bob Firman Invitational. The sophomore surpassed Amanda Ward’s 2007 record for the fastest girls cross country time in Twin Falls history. Geddes, who is competing in her first cross country season, finished seventh in her field on Saturday. She took first place in her other three races this fall.
