Boys athlete of the week: Keegan Duncan, Declo
The junior running back led the Declo football team back to the 2A state title game with a monstrous performance against West Side in Friday’s state semifinal victory. Duncan rushed 24 times for 446 yards and five touchdowns in the Hornets’ 41-27 win at Holt Arena.
“Keegan is a phenomenal athlete,” Declo head coach Kelly Kidd said after the game. “Just give him the ball and let him create. But honestly, it comes down to those big fellows in front. They give him the seams and when he gets a seam, he just goes.”

Canyon Ridge’s Caitlin Crist brings the ball up Tuesday night, Nov. 29, 2016, at Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls.

The Canyon Ridge girls basketball team beat Ridgevue 70-50 to open its season, and Crist led the charge. The senior scored a game-high 27 points and made 9-of-19 field goals in the Riverhawks’ win on Saturday.
“She played like a senior,” Canyon Ridge coach Kevin Cato said. “She did what we needed her to do to carry us to victory.”
