RUPERT — Twin Falls finished first in the girls field and second among boys teams at Wednesday’s tournament at Rupert Country Club.
The Bruin girls finished with a final score of 355, six strokes better than second-place Rocky Mountain. Twin Falls’ Tayllore Ward posted an 81 to earn girls medalist honors.
Ward’s teammate Brinlee Stotts finished tied for second (85), and Canyon Ridge’s Mackenzie McBride was fourth (87).
The Twin Falls boys finished with a score of 300, 12 behind Rocky Mountain.
On the boys individual side, Burley’s Ridge Pickup was the medalist iwith a score of 67, one stroke better than Rocky Mountain’s Carson Barry. Twin Falls’ Drew Meyerhoeffer finished tied for third (70), his cousin Preston Meyerhoeffer was sixth (74) and fellow Bruin Daniel Gaspar was seventh (76).

Burley 5, Canyon Ridge 2
BURLEY — A late rally helped the Bobcats earn a Great Basin Conference-opening win.
Canyon Ridge took a 2-1 lead in the second inning and held onto it until the fifth inning, when Burley scored three runs to take the lead. The Bobcats added one more in the sixth.
Burley’s Andrew Ferrin went 1-for-2 with a double and a walk, Garret Tracy went 1-for-2 with a double and a hit-by-pitch and Ramiro Garcia went 1-for-3 with a double.
Ferrin also pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing two earned runs on seven hits and two walks with seven strikeouts.
Canyon Ridge’s Andreas Burton went 2-for-3 and Ben Carberry went 2-for-4, and both stole a base.
Burley (2-4) will play a doubleheader at Canyon Ridge (3-4) on Thursday to finish the series.
Minico 10, Jerome 0 (6 innings)
RUPERT — The Spartans opened Great Basin Conference play with an easy win.
Minico led 2-0 after one inning, 3-0 through three and 6-0 through five, then scored four in the sixth to end the game an inning early.
Drake Miller nearly went the distance for the Spartans, allowing three hits and one walk with eight strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings pitched. He also went 2-for-2 with a double, a walk and a hit-by-pitch at the plate.
Elsewhere for Minico, Kobe Matsen went 2-for-4 with a double, Tazyn Twiss went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, Carson Schow went 1-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases and Alan Ambriz went 1-for-3 with a walk and a steal.
Minico (5-1) will wrap up the three-game series against the Tigers with a doubleheader on Friday at Jerome.
Jerome 21, Minico 1 (5 innings)
RUPERT — The Tigers rolled over the Spartans in their Great Basin Conference opener.
Jerome scored two runs in the second inning, eight in the third, two in the fourth and nine in the fifth. Minico’s lone run came in the fourth.
Tigers pitcher Abriana Hurtado finished with an excellent line: five innings, one hit, one unearned run, no walks, nine strikeouts. She also went 1-for-2 with a walk, a hit-by-pitch and two stolen bases.
Elsewhere for Jerome, Vivi Ortega was 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and a stolen base, Mercedes Bell was 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double and a steal, Chyanna Myers was 3-for-3 with two doubles and a walk, Ashleigh Leal was 4-for-5 and Kailey Harrison was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a steal.
Jerome (3-0) will host Minico (0-4) in a doubleheader on Friday to conclude the series.
