Gooding 78, Canyon Ridge 64

TWIN FALLS — The Senators improved to 2-0 with the road win over the Riverhawks.

Gooding junior Grace Parker was the leading scorer for the game with 24 points, and senior Caitlin Crist scored a team-high 19 points for Canyon Ridge in the loss.

Canyon Ridge (1-1) is at Buhl on Thursday. Gooding (2-0) is at Dietrich on Friday.

Dietrich 56, Valley 45

DIETRICH — Dietrich junior Matigan Bingham knocked down five 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 17 points in the Blue Devils’ win over the Vikings.

Dietrich senior Jaxon Eggleston followed with 11 pointsm and Quincie Christiansen had 10. Valley freshman Makenna Kohtz led the Vikings with 11 points.

“First game was pretty good. It started out rough but ended good,” said Dietrich coach Acey Shaw. “Matigan was on fire.”

Valley (0-1) hosts Declo on Thursday. Dietrich (1-0) hosts Gooding on Friday.

MALTA — Declo junior Maddie Ramsey led all scorers with 25 points, and senior Maddie Matthews followed with 10 in the Hornets’ road win over the Trojans.

Kamri Ottley led Raft River with 12 points and Amanda Carpenter had 11.

“The first half had a lot of fouls,” said Raft River coach Cody Powers. “And then everyone started to get settled in. It was our first game and we had the jitters. We saw some good things. We need to get the foul count down.”

Declo (1-1) is at Valley and Raft River (0-1) travels to Rockland on Thursday.

MURTAUGH — Shoshone doubled the points of Murtaugh on Tuesday.

Most of the damage was done by the 22 points scored by Shoshone junior Cierra Hennings.

“Hennings came out and played really well,” said Murtaugh coach Todd Jensen. “We just didn’t take care of the ball.”

Sophomore Alissa Chatelain led the Red Devils with six points.

“In the fourth quarter, we just iced out,” Glenns Ferry coach Rich Hance said. “We put them on the line too many times, and I think that was the difference there.”

Kylie Wood scored a game-high eight points for Carey, which plays at Shoshone on Tuesday.
