RUPERT — The Kimberly boys and the Buhl girls earned team titles and medalists at Wednesday’s District 4 golf tournament at Rupert Country Club.
The Kimberly boys’ team score of 326 was 37 strokes better than second-place Declo, the host school. Filer finished third (371), Buhl finished fourth (383), Lighthouse Christian was fifth (386) and Gooding and Wendell posted incomplete scores.
Kimberly’s McKade Huft and Declo’s Trey Smyer both shot 74s to tie for the top individual honors in the boys field.
Huft’s teammates Gage Burnham and Connor Murphy finished tied for third (83), Filer’s Landon Dey and Gooding’s Peyton Fleming were tied for fifth (84), Kimberly’s Kirby Heider was seventh (86) and Buhl’s AJ Armitage and Kimberly’s Trey Garey were tied for eighth (87).
On the girls side, the Buhl girls rolled with a team score of 362, 51 strokes ahead of second-place Kimberly. Declo was third (447), and Lighthouse Christian finished fourth (461). Filer and Wendell, like the Gooding and Wendell boys, didn’t send four golfers to the tournament and thus were ineligible for team scores.
Buhl’s Kylie Crossland shot an 82 to place first among girls individuals. Her teammates Sage Eckert (87) and Zara Weaver (88) finished second and third, respectively.
Declo’s Jaesa Fox was fourth (90), Kimberly’s Aspen Askew was fifth (95), Kimberly’s Ali Belle Hopkins was sixth (99), Lighthouse’s Maycee Holloway was seventh (100), Kimberly’s Rozzy Cummins was eighth (104) and Buhl’s Reina Elkin and Filer’s Alysha Kelly were tied for ninth (105).

GOODING — Filer took both parts of a doubleheader on the road against Gooding on Wednesday.
The Wildcats started with a 10-0 win in five innings behind a shutout performance from Aspen Ryan. She allowed only four hits and five walks while striking out seven batters.
Ryan also was one of four Filer batters to record two hits and also plated two runs.
Gooding was able to keep the second game close through the fourth inning, but five combined runs in the fifth and sixth innings was enough to power Filer to a 9-7 victory.
Sami Taylor and McCarty Stoddard both hit 2-for-4 with a home run, batting in a combined five runs. Kelley Huddleston hit a dinger of her own for Gooding, and Mallory Brown added two hits and an RBI for the Senators.
Filer (11-6-1) will host Buhl on Tuesday, and Gooding (6-8) will host Wendell on Monday.
